My Life
Life can be a total surprise sometimes. But then again, who ever said it has to be predictable. We are living in doomed, troubled, sad and hopeless times. But the prospects can also be really exciting. The prospects of the youth taking up their rightful place to dictate what our future should be like. In a world where the powerful nations have a huge appetite for dictating what happens in other sovereign nations, it is only those with a strong sense of loving their nation and a strong sense of belonging who shall stand up in the face of all adversity and when all the odds are stacked against them, to defend that sovereignty. Not only that, but it is also prudent that the defence of our pride can only be complete with the creation of pride for our people. High living standards, employment, fair and safe labour practices, increased productivity, harnessing of our natural resources for the people, full capitalisation and utilisation of our land, equal opportunities for all, non discrimination, a healthy society and all the other public goods. Not everybody needs somebody, but somebody cannot be anybody without everybody. I greatly believe in our African values, guided by the principles of ubuntu and the simple adage "i am because you are", generally depicting how we cant do without each other. I am also a proponent of the disposition that individuals should seek self climax and betterment of their lives. A balance in self gratification and the 'i am because you are' notion is, in my honest opinion, the highest point of human nature, a great love for each other and the continuous quest to improve oneself. The highest peak.
With the inescapable reality in mind that i cannot be a spectator to someone on the driving seat of the bus of my life, that i cannot recite a poem only for someone else to pen down the story of my life, i thus set out on the journey. The journey of self discovery and self introspection. The journey of self realisation and self actualisation. The journey to define my place in the bigger matrix, to identify myself within the broader scheme of things.
Lastly, i still have the 'naivety' to believe that education is still one of the most effective tools we can call upon to eradicate poverty, and yes, any other vice. It is a virtue.
And so begins, the STORY OF MY LIFE.
